Anna Chapman A2 Media

This task I did using the web tool, Piktochart. For this task I had to research all about my chosen artist J.cole. I included his previous life before he become famous, how he become famous, his family and his achievements. I used a lot of visuals to get across the artist and who he is and what he looks like. This task will help me in the future with my texts task as I know who and what my artist is about and I can make my video best suited to the genre.

This task was done on the tool, photoshop. this links to my task with the wordle of competitors however this is a visual task. I gathered from my previous research of the competitors of my chosen artist to go onto google and gather loads of images to then insert onto photoshop. I overlapped and layered my pictures on photoshop as I wanted it make it all crowded as possible. I enjoyed doing this task as I could to play around with photoshop.

For this task I used time-lapse from my phone that was on a tripod to make sure it look cleared and didn't move to show how I illustrated my plans of a digipak and an album advert. I researched into the codes and conventions of each of them to make sureI had included them all. With a ruler, pen and paper drew out my plan for a digipak and then an advert. I found this task very useful as I now can see how to lay out the advert and what needs to be included and where it should be included on a digipak.

In this task i used wordle to get together loads of names of the competitors of my chosen artist J.Cole. I did a little research as I was unaware of how many competitors there was and found many artist that I would of thought of.

For this task I gathered Many different music videos all with different conventions, different themes and different shots, paces, locations and colours to create this video mood board. I used final cut to present my mood board. I cropped the videos from youtube converter and inserted them into final cut and added text to talk about why I choose to add each video and my personal opinion on each of them.

In this task I learnt about the different representations in music videos. I used the web tool called Emaze to create this presentation. I talked about Katy Perry 'Roar' and Little Mix 'Black Magic'. I looked at all the different conventions and shot types, costumes and how the video was put across. I now know conventions of certain representations and I will include all my knowledge in the future for my music video.

In this task I learnt about digipaks and album covers adverts. I looked at Ariana Grandes advert and Green day, then looked at the digipak for Taylor Twifts album.I have learnt the basic conventions of each of them and what they should and shouldn't contain and the most common and popular conventions that are used. I will use this knowledge for my final piece. This task was helpful as before researching into each of them I was totally clueless to what a album advert and digital contained.

For this post I used prezi. I learnt the basics conventions of pop music videos and how they part away from stereo-typical conventions. For this task I looked into different music video and looks in depth at the pace, costumes, colour, shots, locations, lighting and a lot more to write each music video in as much detail as I could. Overall I have learnt how basic pop music videos work and the conventions that they all share and which are most common. This will benefit me in the future as it gave me an overall idea of music videos and what is most found in each of them.

For this task I used press to present my basic knowledge of music videos and the three categories they can fall into which are; performance, narrative and conceptual. I analysed a few music videos to back up my points of the categories they they fall into. I look forward to increasing my knowledge in the future.

For this task I researched into Goodwins theorys, looked at 4 different music videos. 2 were performance based, one was narrative and the other was conceptual. I then went into depth about each music video linking it back to Goodins theory and analysing different parts. I back it all up with visual evidence. I created this task using press as the web tool. From this task I gained knowledge on Goodwins theory and how to analyse videos using all his strategies. This will help me in the future by giving me insight to the 3 main elements that make up a music video and how each one is shown.

This year, I have chosen to carry on with media studies due to the fact that I thoroughly enjoyed the tasks set last year. I want to further develop my knowledge in media and the different elements within media. I am looking forward to making my own music video with the song I have chosen. I will be doing a lot of preparing and research into my chosen artist to make sure I produce my music video to the best of my ability.
